What up Louisville! I'm one of the weekend people here at 989 Radio Now. Feel free to hit me up anytime and say hello!
So yeah, my name is Vijay and I was born and raised in the DC Area, Takoma Park to be exact. I've also lived in DC, several other towns throughout Maryland, New York City, Williamsport, PA (Home of the Little League World Series) and the Philippines! I love working in radio and have been doing it for about 3 years. It all started when I was an intern down in DC in '08...
Back in January, a 62-year-old man from Wales named Paul Marshallsea was on vacation in Australia, when a SHARK swam near some kids at the beach. So he GRABBED the shark and dragged it away. The video was posted online, and he was called a hero . . . but he was supposed to be on SICK LEAVE from the charity where he works, not on vacation. So they fired him.
Paul's wife was ALSO working at the charity, and ALSO out sick during the Australian vacation. So she's been fired too.
When's the last time you left a friend a voicemail? If you can't remember, don't worry . . . it means you're POLITE.
--According to an article in the "New York Times", the new rule of cell phone etiquette in this day and age is . . . only leave a voicemail if it's a LIFE-OR-DEATH EMERGENCY.
--Otherwise, hang up and send a text summarizing what you were going to say.
--The theory here is that leaving a voicemail is a BURDEN on the other person. They have to actually go to the trouble of pressing the button and listening to it. And there's nothing you'd say in a voicemail you can't say in a text.
She joked about her 36Cs to US Weekly the other day:
"I need, like, an insurance invitation. If somebody was like, 'Hey, you know what? We would like to insure your boobs for $2.5 million dollars,' I'd be like, 'Do it. Love it! Why not?'
Pointing to her chest she added, "These things right here are worth $5 million!"
